Christmas Day

CHRISTMAS IN THE SPIRIT WORLD

“I would like to describe what Christmas has meant to the North American Indian. Some of you may have heard the story of how an Indian brother, an old, old man, nearing two hundred years, journeyed up the mountain side, and on its crest laid down in a little cave to await death’s coming. As a chief, he wore the ceremonial robe of white. Thus the Indian brother waited. And when, with the dawn, the great red sun rose in the East, to his vision the earth and sky seemed to hold a great multitude of Indian brothers of long ago. Then the earth seemed to fade and disappear, leaving no feeling of earth, and the newly born brother was only conscious of the rising of the sun and the approaching array of Indian brethren, come to welcome him into his new life.

This picture that I give is not new life only of the earth, but one which I have witnessed many many times at Christmas in the Spirit . . . the hush over all as we wait in the dimness for the coming of the dawn. The light seems dimmed because of the expectancy of our souls.

So, in the hush we wait; and the sunlight gradually spreads over the horizon, and as the light ascends, the birds commence to sing, the flowers to send forth their perfume, and the wind, the gentle breeze, seems as music to our waiting hearts. The golden light is shed over the great company, and we arise . . .  The sun seems to come nearer and still nearer, so that we see in its heart of the great ball of light, the Form, the Figure of a Man.  As he draws close, His eyes become radiant with love, and from His raiment pours forth the golden light.  We are all bathed in his aura . . .  each one is quickened with the spirit of Christ.  He stretches forth His Hand as we wait in the silence.  We feel the touch on head, on shoulder and on heart . . .    And then the Angels break forth into song, praising and thanking God.

May you all be happy, and remember about the happiness and the beauty in the spirit world. Will you, too, become childlike, and give . . .  give the spirit of Christmas to your brethren on earth, and you will receive it afresh from the heavenly kingdom, full measure, pressed down, and running over.

The Master . . .  the Great White Light . . .  touches your heart with His love and peace . . .  Amen.”
