Inspiration from White Eagle

BIRDS AND ANGELS

White Eagle teaches us that all living things are connected: “Apart from the great brotherhood of human souls, we want you to think also about the brotherhood of all life – consisting of human beings, the animal kingdom, the natural world, the spirit world, the angelic kingdoms”.  I recently heard from another teacher, who reminds us that as much as we are human beings, we are also nature beings.  As humans in our immediate world, we have largely lost that sense of being at one with nature, and in my search for assistance making this vital connection, I find much help from White Eagle, including the following teaching, connecting us with birds and through birds, to the angelic realm.”

“In ancient mythology, a bird conveyed the idea of an angelic messenger and symbolized a certain aspect in the soul.  Thus birds played a great part in teaching people of these heavenly qualities.  Many an aspirant to spiritual wisdom would spend long hours listening to the songs of birds, studying their habits and learning to interpret their language.”

“The song of the birds touches hidden vibrations within you which can respond to heavenly influences.  These can help to strengthen and bring into human consciousness that aspect of the heavenly life with which it is in harmony.”

“The birds bring happiness, they release your soul into spiritual realms.  You cannot help being happy when you hear the song of birds.  Listening to birdsong a chord awakens in you which carries you into the spiritual world.  Do not listen with the mind alone, but the chords of the heart should be struck by the sound – and then you are released.  You fly; you overcome earthiness like birds.  Even in the spirit world, when the soul first comes over, it finds itself in very lovely natural surroundings, sometimes in a beautiful sunlit garden, among birds of beautiful plumage and coloring.  Or the soul will find a lovely sunlit wood, and spend long periods communing with the birds, and the spirit birds will sit upon the person’s shoulders.”

“The songs of the birds are also the vibrations which assist the nature spirits to bring forth the fruits of the earth.  Train yourself, when you are in the woodland, to shut out all earthly sounds, and enter into the innermost in yourself: you will then hear sounds, harmonies – not only the deep musical harmony of nature but nature within nature.  In that music, nature spirits have their being; these sounds quicken their life-force, and enable them to receive instruction from the one at the head of the ray upon which they live.”
